So since I haven’t updated either blog in awhile, I figured this of all things should make the cut. A few nights ago, my little brother (14) emails me to say that last week, he gave his life to missions! YES! Hallelujah! He’s not sure where yet, but possibly to Latin America, to work with orphans and the poor. But he’s got time, and we’ll be praying for direction. Until then, celebrate for another worker!
Summer and Further
So I’m going to take a step back. I’m going to go part time with school, and just take in the Word devotionally. I’m going to read the books I want to read (such as the one’s assigned which I read during the semester simply to be able to say I read them, and others.) I will work full time, getting to know my coworkers more, as well as learning how to further integrate into society, yet not being of it. I’m going to aim for a prayer life that is on fire. Fueled by resources from www.24-7prayer.com and others, Fanned by the Spirit. I want to burn with God’s glory. I want to be a light.
So I’m stepping back, and praying for restoration.
Resolutions
So I’m not one for resolutions anymore. However…I’ve decided that I will strive to come closer to Father, Son, and Spirit every single day from now til I die.
An Unfortunate Truth
Ladies and gentleman, I am about to give you an unfortunate truth. Many know it already, and those that don’t, brace yourselves:
Porn and Lust kill.
They kill relationships. Such as with God, with family, and with friends (especially of the female variety.)
They kill marriages.
They kill ministries.
And yet…I, as a male, am going to a field more inundated with porn and lust than even Hollywood.
Please pray.
A Thought for Travellers…
This was brought up in one of my classes…
After returning from a trip…perhaps you should have a little understanding when not all of your friends show a big interest in your trip and what you did. For, when you got back, did you ask them what they did while you were gone?
Song.
I will never march in the infantry, ride in the cavalry, shoot the artillery.
I will never fly over the enemy, ’cause I’m in the Lord’s army.
Prepostelection Contemplation
So I’ve just been thinking. Regardless of who gets elected…what will happen to our economy? Will the dollar crash? Will gas soar? Will I be able to continue college? Will I ever get a degree? Will I ever get to see the land for which my heart yearns again? And the list of worries goes on and on.
